Interpreting The Lines of Palmistry
A professional palm reader will look at three different aspects of the lines in your hand. One aspect is Chiromancy, which is the analysis of lines in the palm. The three main lines of the hand are said to be, from top to bottom, the heart, head and life lines. Another aspect is Chirognomy, which includes analysis of the mounts, the types of fingers, the thumb shape, nails and texture. The third aspect is Dermatoglyphics, which is a deeper analysis of the skin ridge patterns. Here we will discuss the lines of palmistry, the Chiromancy, which is most commonly thought of when considering the art of palm reading.
The first line is the heart line, which is located at the very top of the palm under the fingers. The palm reader interprets this line to indicate romantic perspectives, emotional stability, depression, passion or stoicism, as well as cardiac health. Lines that extend to the pointing finger are considered long, whereas lines that reach the middle finger are considered short. Broken lines beneath the middle finger show one has been left by a loved one, whereas broken lines under the pointing finger show that the person has ended the relationship him or herself. Lines that are broken several times show inconsistency in relationships and partners. Broken lines overlapping indicate temporary separations. Strong heart lines predict faithful love. High heart lines predict jealous love, whereas low lines predict serene and rational love. In rare cases the heart and head lines cross, which suggests this person lets head rule over heart.
The head line is the second in the lines of palmistry. This line does not indicate how "smart" a person is, but rather, how driven a person is. Long, well defined lines indicate someone who is presidential or business-minded in nature. Shorter lines may indicate a person who thinks practically or who tends to react instinctively first. Straight lines show common sense, an interest in material things and clear thought processes, whereas sloped lines indicate people who are imaginative, romantic and idealistic.
The life line is the third in the lines of palmistry, which is located at the bottom of the hand. If the line curves around the thumb, then this person is very active. If the line is higher near the index finger, this person is ambitious and determined. If the line joins with the head line, this person is cautious. If there is a big gap between the two, this person is reckless and impulsive. If the line runs to the middle of the moon mount (near the wrist), this person wishes to live elsewhere. If the line finishes in the fork, the person will depend on others in his or her old age. People often hope for solid lines, with a steady thickness and depth that indicates a good healthy life with many rewards. By contrast, broken or wavy lines predict tumultuous life events with many twists and turns or a poor disposition.
